Lisa Hanawalt is an artist, writer, and lifelong horse lover. Lisa grew up in the Bay Area, taking riding lessons and leasing ponies whenever possible. She graduated from UCLA, returned to horseback riding as an adult amateur, and bought her first horse, Juniper, in 2018.

Lisa currently works in the entertainment industry. She’s the creator of Tuca & Bertie and designer/producer of BoJack Horseman. She finds the best way to spend free time is walking around the Rancho and trotting up hills in Griffith Park.

In joining this committee, Lisa hopes to help keep horseback riding safe and accessible through the maintenance of public amenities and trails, and to continue to introduce new people to the sport of riding, the power of caring for these animals, and to the wonderful equestrian community.
